Friday, October 22, 2010 - Day 5 of the HumaniTour
We traveled by bus to Hai Phong City, Seattle Sister City. After we checked in to our hotel, our team took suitcases filled with toys, school supplies, dental and hygiene supplies, to the Hoa Phuong Orphanage. For several team members, this would be another return visit to this happy place and reunited withe many of the orphans they have bonded during their previous visits.
Started in 2001, the HumaniTours is a project of Kids Without Borders (www.KidsWithNoBorders.org). It is a once in a lifetime opportunity to go on a vacation, and at the same time make small differences in many people's lives.

Peace Village - Agent Orange
Friday - October 22, 2010
DCay 5 of the HumaniTour Viet Nam Fall 2010
Team New York arrived on Wednesday and our group now grew to 31 travelers. This morning, we visited a familiar place, the Thanh Xuan Peace Village. Kids Without Borders (with support from Rotary) has supported this rehabilitation center for disabled children since 2001. The disabled children (physical and mental disabilities) are victims of Agent Orange, used during the war more than 35 years ago.
Our team delivered to Dr. Phuong, Director of the Center, our gifts of new children clothing, dental care supplies, hygiene supplies, medical supplies, and school supplies. Lots of smile and excitement when toys and candies were handed out by our team members.
